A portrait held still, built from plating, rivets and restraint. The figure does not move; it waits, and the waiting is the whole composition.
Design Story
The wraparound artwork reads like an engineered panel. Stencilled type sits high on the surface — BUMBLEBEE, BLACK OPS RELIC, PROTOTYPE FIELD UNIT B-127 — establishing a cool, documentary frame before the eye drops to the face. There, two narrow blue optics cut through a field of weathered gold and graphite, the only cold accent in an otherwise warm, scratched palette. Below the head, layered mechanical forms and a gold sphere give the composition weight, while lower plaques with AUTOBOT lettering and the vertical STEALTH, SPEED, SURVIVE, PROTECT list close the sequence like a caption. The hierarchy is deliberate: text, gaze, machinery, text again — an upward and downward reading that keeps the viewer circling the form.
Use & Experience
On a vertical tumbler silhouette, this structure works unusually well. The typography occupies the upper band near the lid, the face lands at the natural front-facing focal height, and the plaque panels anchor the base. The dark ground absorbs the surrounding space so the gold striping and single blue accent carry the entire visual weight, giving the piece real carry presence without visual noise.
