Design Story

Behind them, a hooded figure rises from a bed of soil and bone, jaw open in a silent shriek, shroud hanging in torn, root-like ribbons. The composition is a centered medallion built for confrontation: the skull sits at the optical center, flanked by grasping arms and bare branches that fan outward like a frame. Scattered skulls and rust-orange maple leaves ring the outer band, warming an otherwise near-monochrome palette of bone, ash and deep brown. Pale smoke fills the negative space, keeping the darkness readable rather than flat.

Room & Styling

As a round rug, the design works with the shape instead of fighting it. The dark outer border closes the circle cleanly, the scattered skulls carry the motif to the edge, and the reaper's reaching arms pull the whole scene toward whoever approaches. Scaled to a floor, it reads as a room anchor best viewed standing — an entryway or seasonal statement piece with real visual footprint.
