Design Story

The composition is built like a broken medallion: a distressed circular border of red and bone stripes frames a black night field with a moon, a big-top canopy, and a lit ferris wheel sitting far back in the visual hierarchy. Everything then collapses inward toward the snarling clown face at centre, with tattered ruff and crimson hair spilling outward to fill the circle. Two clawed hands push past the midline and breach the lower border — the trompe-l'oeil trick that gives the whole surface its forward motion. Palette is restrained on purpose: oxblood, bone white, and deep charcoal, with the only warm accents coming from the carnival lights.

Room & Styling

As a rug, the scale is the point. The face reads clearly from standing height, while the claw detail and torn edge reward close viewing. Centred motif and dark ground mean it anchors an entryway or a room centre without competing with furniture, and the broken border keeps the silhouette from feeling too tidy.
