Design Story

The composition is strictly centred: one large hollow-eyed visage with amber-lit sockets anchors the middle, its cracked, bark-like planes fanning outward like drapery. Around it, four smaller ghostly faces and two clawed hands emerge from the shadow, each turned inward so the eye keeps circling. Autumn maples in rust, ember and dried-clay tones interrupt the grey relief and give the palette its warmth. The border does the refining work — an ornate scrollwork ring with copper-toned filigree, small red cabochon accents and faceted studs following the circular shape, closed by a rope hanger and a hanging lantern charm with a pentacle drop. Ornament frames horror; that tension is the whole design.

Display & Styling

Read as a round wood sign, the carved-looking relief and dark tonal contrast give it real presence on a door or entry wall. The decorative ring keeps the silhouette clean from a distance, so it reads as a considered statement piece rather than a novelty cutout.
