Some decor decorates. This one watches back. A single molten eye holds the centre of a shard-built diamond, and the entire piece is cut to that outline rather than boxed into a frame.

Design Story

The composition is strictly radial: layered bark-like blades and feathered scale forms fan outward from a burning amber iris, their bleached grey-brown tones cooling the heat at the core so the glow reads as the only true focal point. Cobwebbing, small studs and hanging charms break the perimeter into irregular negative space, and the cut edge tracks every jagged point of that silhouette — top spire, side wings, the long downward tip. Restrained palette, high tonal contrast, one idea executed cleanly.

Display & Styling

As a heteromorphic wood sign, the shape does the work before the image is even read. The die-cut silhouette gives the wall a real outline instead of a rectangle, and the visible rope loop presents it as a hanging accent rather than a mounted panel. Scaled for a door or entry wall, it holds its own against autumn foliage, lantern light and darker painted surfaces.
