Most seasonal decor shouts. This one stares back. A single burning amber eye anchors the whole piece, and everything else in the design curls around it like smoke.
Design Story
The silhouette is the hook: a dragon's half-face cut into a curling, tapered shape that ends in a scrolled tail, so the outer edge tracks the artwork instead of boxing it in. Scaled, bark-like relief covers the surface, its ridges catching light in bronze and ash grey. Then the design does something clever — it opens. A torn oval in the center becomes a portal: a swollen red moon, a distant spired castle, a stone stairway climbing toward it, and small warm flames scattered along the steps. A pale skull sits tucked into the lower scrollwork. Cool dark relief against that hot crimson interior is what gives the composition its tension. Your eye goes to the eye, then falls into the portal. That's a two-stage focal point, and it works.
Display & Styling
As a heteromorphic wood sign, the shape-following cut edge is the point — no frame, no border, just the dragon profile reading clean against a dark door or wall. Hung from a chain at eye level, the recessed portal scene rewards a closer look, while the silhouette carries from across a porch.
