Design Story

The composition divides the crown into two tonal fields: a pale silver-grey side panel and deep navy panels rendered with a scaled, reptile-pattern visual texture. Thin gold seam lines trace the panel edges, drawing the eye upward to the crown button and forward along the brim. The visual anchor is the striding lion emblem on the front panel, faceted in cobalt blue and outlined in gold, its mid-stride silhouette suggesting movement without disturbing the stillness of the whole. On the side, a small rectangular plate reading MOTOR CITY / DETROIT over a skyline provides the counterweight — text as a second, smaller focal point that keeps the hierarchy balanced.
