A wraparound composition built entirely from burgundy and gold, where every element appears carved rather than printed.
Design Story
The eye enters at the large block W anchoring the upper panel, then falls to the helmeted hog mascot below, fist raised, football tucked, jersey numbered 32. Around this focal figure the surface fills with satellite motifs: two helmets, a circular Washington Commanders emblem, a domed capitol silhouette, scattered stars and a small football. Lower down, typography takes over in stacked tiers, COMMANDERS NATION, GAME DAY READY, HTTR, with EST. 1932 acting as a quiet caption. The sculpted, embossed look gives the flat palette depth, and the tonal restraint, only two hues, keeps a dense composition legible.
Use & Experience
On a tall tumbler silhouette the layout reads well: the emblem occupies the front-facing focal panel at eye level, while the typography bands follow the vertical taper toward the base. The handle sits outside the artwork, leaving the graphic uninterrupted as the piece turns.
