Design Story

The composition is built like a commemorative crest. An arched banner across the top reads UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA, with a small columned landmark motif beneath it. Below the monogram, a second ribbon carries NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS in the same engraved-look lettering. Underneath, a soft blue-and-white argyle field frames a circular basketball medallion, and the base panel closes the story with EST. 1789 and a decorative LIMITED EDITION plaque. Everything is rendered in Carolina blue against cream and silver-toned outlines, giving the artwork a calm, ceremonial rhythm rather than motion.

Use & Experience

On a tall tumbler silhouette, that vertical stacking works in its favour. The crest reads as the front-facing focal panel at eye level, the argyle band acts as a transition, and the darker base anchors the whole wraparound composition.
